PROCESS Building Information Modelling BIM DfMA design data that is generated automatically from CAD drawing files then moves seamlessly to the ‘off-site’ manufacturing facilities which initiate CNC cutting and assembly of components, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, material quantities and finishes for suppliers and contractors. Visualization of the building and its fittings is available to everyone connected with the project, giving each contributor full knowledge and responsibility for every component of the building. Due to the speed of the construction process changes are usually not possible. Building Product Manufacturers BPM Windows & doors are ordered in advance to be available for installation as soon as the ‘building envelope’ is complete, with dimensions guaranteed by the CAD drawing files. Interior cabinets for kitchen and bathroom can be selected from the standardised range with choices of finish and colour, or custom cabinetry can be pre-ordered from the floor plan dimensions. Electrical main conduits are run within the floor, while wiring looms that meet national standards are prepared off-site and installed during the construction of the building envelope, with final connections and certification signed off by a licensed contractor. Plumbing conduits and water mains initially run within the floor, with supply and waste pipes concealed within the purpose made voids in the wall, floor and roof panels in accordance with the CAD files for selected systems and fixtures. Modern Methods of Construction MMC By taking a ‘hybrid’ approach to home construction, the combination of off-site manufacturing and on-site completion de-materializes projects to reduce the number of items traditionally used for house building, simplifying the project management. The reduction in overall customer cost improves access to affordable housing while reducing wait times from shorter build schedules.
MMC - Modern Methods of Construction creates opportunities to build homes of better quality and at lower cost through our utilization of HAUS Technologies’ DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM delivering environmentally sustainable solutions with a lower carbon footprint.
